Dr Bridie O’Donnell,

Dr. Bridie O'Donnell is an Australian medical doctor, former professional cyclist, and public health executive. She set the Women’s Hour World Record in 2016, covering 46.882 km, and represented Australia at three UCI Road World Championships. Prior to her cycling career, Dr. O'Donnell worked as a surgical assistant and later specialized as a breast physician with a focus on behaviour change. She was the inaugural Director of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation in Victoria and worked as an executive in Victorian government's COVID-19 response. Bridie currently serves as Executive Director of Pubic Health at the Department of Health. She has also been a pro cycling commentator for SBS for 12 years, including as a member of the commentary team for the men's and women's Tours de France.
