
Leadership Council
GSUN is governed by a Council of leading higher education institutions from around the globe.
Eligibility Criteria
The Council is made up of institutions from across the world (with special attention to representation from the global south) which meet one or more of the following criteria:
Delivering a comprehensive portfolio of sport, wellness and exercise related teaching (degree courses and similar);
Delivering a comprehensive range of research and innovation activities resulting in sustained and substantive local, regional and international impact;
Partnering with high-profile sports organizations and other relevant third parties to deliver positive change;
Providing leadership on sport-related matters (e.g., policy and standards setting) regionally, nationally or globally.
Delegates
Each Leadership Council institution may have up to two delegates on the Council. Council meetings will have a chair that rotates on an annual basis, at the selection of the Council. The first year will be co-chaired by the founding institutions. The summit chair will also attend Council meetings.
