John Eales AM is widely regarded as one of Australia’s greatest rugby union captains. John played as a lock for Queensland and the Wallabies, earning 86 Test caps - 55 as captain - between 1991 and 2001. He led Australia to two Rugby World Cup victories in 1991 and 1999, as well as multiple Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations titles.
Following his retirement, Eales transitioned into business, founding the Mettle Group and serving on boards including Flight Centre and Magellan Financial Gro0p. A published author, sports analyst, and leadership speaker, he also champions several charitable causes. In 1999, John was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to sport.
