Mark Arbib
CEO, Australian Olympic Committee
Mark Arbib is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), appointed in April 2025. With over 30 years of leadership experience across sport, government, and business, Arbib brings a deep understanding of Australia’s sporting landscape to the role.
Arbib has been a member of the AOC Executive Committee since 2016 and chaired the Brisbane 2032 Legacy and Impact Committee. As President of Athletics Australia from 2015 to 2021, he led significant governance reforms, enhanced athlete representation, and introduced innovative events like Nitro Athletics.
In his political career, Arbib served as Australia’s Federal Minister for Sport from 2010 to 2012, where he established the National Anti-Match-Fixing Policy, a precursor to Sport Integrity Australia, and represented the country on the World Anti-Doping Agency Board. He was also a Senator for New South Wales 2008 to 2012, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Employment Participation.
Beyond public service, Arbib held executive roles in the private sector, including Director of Strategy and Business Development at Consolidated Press Holdings. He has served on the boards of Sydney FC and the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Packer Family Foundation.
Arbib holds a Master of Arts in political science and economic history from the University of New South Wales.
